Mumbai: Deepika Padukone has rubbished rumours that her 'Chennai Express' co-star Shah Rukh Khan has asked her not to go for the promotional tour of 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani', and says he will never do such a thing.

"That's not true at all. Shah Rukh is the most encouraging person I have worked with. He is extremely proud of me and my achievements and he would never do something like that," she said here.

The makers of Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone-starrer 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' have chalked out a plan for the promotion and global tour of the movie but reportedly, it's being said that Shah Rukh has asked her to stay back and complete their film.

Deepika, who was present at an event held for the launch of People magazine, minced no word in praising Shah Rukh.

"Today, I am lot more confident and lot more comfortable around him," said the actress who made Bollywood debut with Shah Rukh in 2007 hit movie 'Om Shanti Om'.

"In the first film, I was just too shocked and too surprised about the fact that I have even got such a debut," she said.

"He (Shah Rukh) is definitely a friend. He is always been someone who I can rely on or call on any point in the daytime or whatever. He is just somebody to talk to and he has been that person for me in 'Chennai Express' as well."

Directed by Rohit Shetty, 'Chennai Express' is scheduled for release in August this year.

Contrary to reports in a section of the press claiming that Shah Rukh Khan danced for Kamal Haasan at a party thrown in Chennai in honour of the former on Sunday night, Shah Rukh danced for the entire congregation of who's who from the Tamil film industry at the party hosted in his honour at the Hyatt in Chennai. And he danced drenched from head to toe. Says Kamal Haasan, "He danced wonderfully on stage and it looked like he had come out of the bath and forgotten to dry." The truth about Srk's wet and wild look that Sunday evening was a little less romantic and far scarier. The air conditioning at the posh luxury hotel had conked off leaving Srk swathed in sweat. Says Kamal, "It was every celebrity-bash's worst nightmare come true. The air conditioning at the hotel broke down. We were all left seething and simmering in the heat,

Almost everyone from B-Town visited Sanjay Dutt after the Supreme Court's verdict over 1993 Mumbai blasts. Bollywood firmly stood by Sanjay Dutt and this was quite obvious with the celebrities flocking his house to extend their support.

Salman Khan visited his friend Sanjay the day he landed in Mumbai, Aamir Khan took out time from his hectic schedule of Dhoom 3 to be part of the shoot with Sanjay Dutt for P.K.

Only actor who was not seen at the Dutt residence was Shah Rukh Khan as he was shooting in Wai for Chennai Express.

Shah Rukh Khan finally took out time and paid a late night visit to Sanjay Dutt at his residence on Thursday night.

Shah Rukh Khan had a talk with Sanjay as well as his wife Manyata and stayed for a couple of hours.
Meanwhile, Dutt is likely to file a petition for a month's extension before he returns to prison, in order to finish pending films.

The Supreme court has sentenced Sanjay Dutt of five years imprisonment and since he has already completed his jail tenure of one and a half years, he has to face jail term of three and half years now.

The two superstar Khans of Bollywood will move closer! Salman Khan is reportedly moving closer to Shah Rukh Khan's Bandra residence.
According to reports, Salman Khan who was staying in one-bedroom flat in Galaxy Apartments is now looking for a new space. He is reportedly moving into Sagar Resham, that's just two buildings away from Shah Rukh Khan's house Mannat.
The building is said to have a clear sea view.

Though a lot of actors have found their calling in politics, from Jaya Bachchan to Govinda, the Badshah of Bollywood feels it is a professional field and one needs to have the right education for it.

A leading publication quoted the actor as saying, "I can't become a politician all of a sudden. It's a professional field and you have to educate yourself for that."

The publication further quoted him as saying, "I don't I look down on politics. Asking me whether I've thought of entering politics is as good as asking me if I've given a thought to becoming an astronaut," he said, adding that as far as he is concerned, acting is what suits him best. It's what I've done all my life. I think I should try and do what I do best, which is also questionable at times. Honestly, I've no inclination towards politics."

The couple made an appearance in the April issue of an entertainment glossy, and Shahrukh Khan is totally charmed by his wife, even after 21 years of marriage.

B-town's happening couple, Shahrukh Khan and Gauri Khan posed for the cover of Hello!, and looks like King Khan is craving for his wife's attention. While Gauri has ensconced herself in the couch like a diva, SRK seems absolutely mesmerized by her. When it comes to style, Mrs Khan steps into the shoes of a fashionista in that pretty white lace dress and those shiny ankle-strap heels.

The curls are in place and the French manicure is spot-on, especially with the monochrome outfit. While Gauri is so prim-and-proper, as if she has taken care of every aspect of her ensemble, it looks like Shahrukh has walked straight out of a film set. He looks like an item boy in those shimmering pants and intricately embroidered shirt. And of course Mr Khan couldn't resist showing off his cleavage.

The couple is pretty much at ease despite the many rumours floating about Shahrukh Khan having an affair with Priyanka Chopra. And as The King says, 'We share a strong relationship of reasonless smiles', the super chemistry between him and Gauri justifies why they are still together - with two lovely kids and a bond that looks quite unbreakable.

With Shahrukh Khan and Rohit Shetty forcing Deepika Padukone to cancel her trip with Ranbir Kapoor to promote their new film, it could take a toll on a few relationships in Bollywood

Shahrukh Khan and Karan Johar are known to be thick friends. In fact, Karan Johar has publicly claimed more than a dozen times that he respects Shahrukh Khan and considers him to be an elder brother. The only time there was an inkling of a rift between the two was when KJo cold-shouldered Priyanka Chopra after rumours of her having an affair with SRK started doing the rounds. However, that too got resolved fairly quickly, as Karan chose to end his spat with Priyanka - he insisted it never happened, by the way - and their friendship remained as close as before.

But now it seems there are new cracks in Karan's bond with his 'big brother'. Reports say that Shahrukh has just refused to give Deepika Padukone time off from his film so that she can promote Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, which happens to be a Dharma Productions' project, backed all the way by Johar. Apparently SRK - and director Rohit Shetty - is in a mad rush to complete Chennai Express and secure an Eid release date. And while Karan needed to borrow Dips to promote Yeh Jawaani abroad through a promotional world tour with Ranbir, his plan now stands completely gutted. With no Deepika to promote the film, Ranbir isn't keen either to tour either. This will indeed affect the collections of the movie, since Karan always has an audience in the desi diaspora. Now, with the promotional plans falling through, will the collections of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani suffer? Only time will tell.

Actor Shah Rukh Khan has reportedly earned a sum of Rs. 8 crore for a 30-minute performance at a high-profile wedding in Dubai last Thursday, reports a Mumbai tabloid. And, he has apparently hiked his fee. “Even two years ago, he was charging R4crore for a performance and Rs. 1 crore for

an appearance,” Rashid Sayyed, an event manager was quoted as saying.

It's been 13 years since Shah Rukh Khan and Kamal Hassan came together for 'Hey Ram'. On Saturday night, stars of the South film industry watched and applauded as SRK put up a very special and impromptu performance at a dinner hosted by Kamal in his honour.

In Chennai for the Chevalier Sivaji Award, constituted after veteran Tamil actor Sivaji Ganeshan, SRK went on to become the first Hindi film actor to be conferred the honour. But the excitement spilled over well beyond the ceremony. SRK had been invited to a small dinner at Kamal's house in Alwarpet. "But word soon got around and the actor-filmmaker was besieged with calls from his colleagues who wanted to meet SRK. And there was no way Kamal Sir could turn them down," said a source. At the very last moment, the venue was shifted to a high- "It was a treat watching them shake a leg together," said the eye witness, adding, "they got along like a house on fire as they performed the ' hook step ' from the song." SRK partied till 6 am. "He made his host and his Southern friends very happy indeed," said the source.
It took a while for the guests to be redirected. "The party started around 2.30 am. Several prominent members of the industry, including Vijay, Dhanush, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Balaji Sakthivel, D Imman, A R Murgadoss were present," said the source. According to an eyewitness, Shah Rukh joined the party around 3 am, greeted the guests, even tried a few lines in Tamil. What would have ended with a cordial hand shake or a hug, took a different turn when the DJ started playing Chammak Challo. SRK went up to Kamal, who was chatting with a few guests at a distance, and literally dragged him to the dance floor.

Bollywood baadshah Shahrukh Khan was conferred with Chevalier Sivaji Award, constituted after veteran Tamil actor Sivaji Ganeshan, Saturday here at the 7th edition of Vijay awards. Shahrukh received the award from the hands of Kamal Haasan, Vijay and members from the family of Sivaji Ganeshan.

"I have enjoyed working with Kamal Haasan and Ajith Kumar in my career. I may be the owner of Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL cricket league, but my favorite team is Chennai Super Kings," said Shahrukh while receiving his award.

Shahrukh, 47, worked with Kamal Haasan in Tamil-Hindi bilingual 'Hey Ram' and with Ajith Kumar in Hindi film 'Asoka'. King Khan handed over special category awards to actor Vijay and filmmaker A R Murugadoss. The awards were presented to actors under different categories for the year 2012.

In a recent interview to TOI, Ayan Mukherjee, director of 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' was all praise for his lead pair, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, for putting their past behind and maintaining a cordial relationship on the sets. Karan Johar, who is producing the film, had also planned a world tour with the exlovers to promote the film. However, it seems Shah Rukh Khan vetoed the idea.

TOI has learnt that SRK has thrown a wet blanket on the much-anticipated trip scheduled to take off early this week. Apparently, he and Rohit Shetty, the director of his ambitious project Chennai Express, sat Deepika down and talked her out of the plan. They categorically told her that they need her to devote all her time to complete the film.

Deepika tried her best to reason with SRK and Rohit, but to no avail. "She was clearly told that if she did not cooperate, they will not be able to release their film on Eid. She was also reminded about the leeway given to her in the past when she kept dividing her dates between Shetty's Chennai Express and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram Leela," a source close to the developments said.

The latest is that, even Ranbir is not going for the tour and no prizes for guessing, Karan and Ayan aren't too amused with their publicity drive been thrown out of gear.

"As of today, the tour stands cancelled. The whole idea was to have Deepika and Ranbir together," the source said adding, "It was a professional tour. The plan was to take them to visit parts of the US, mainly focusing on areas with a high percentage of Indian diaspora. Other than that, England and a few other places were also on the itinerary."

The actor will leave for London to get his right shoulder operated.

Shah Rukh Khan will be going under the knife again. The actor will have the surgery on his right shoulder in London, post the completion of Chennai Express and IPL, in July.

Says a source, “Shah Rukh has been shooting high octane action sequences for Chennai Express which has taken a toll on his shoulders, especially his right one. His left shoulder is already weak as he had a minimally invasive surgery at the Breach Candy Hospital a couple of years ago.

The right shoulder got aggravated with time as pressure was put on it in the past few months. The pain became much worse after Shah Rukh, who loves doing all kinds of stunts for his events, performed at an award show recently. SRK is just waiting for the last schedule of CE to wrap up, and then he will leave for London with his family. After his operation, Shah Rukh will be completely confined to his bed for a month before he can take on any physical activity.” Post his recuperation, he starts shooting for Happy New Year directed by Farah Khan.

Shah Rukh is currently being treated by Dr Sanjay Desai, who had operated on his left shoulder in 2011. Dr Desai is one of the leading orthopedic surgeons in India, who has the credit of bringing world-class arthroscopic shoulder surgery to India. An insider reveals, “Depending on the condition of SRK’s shoulder Dr Desai may operate it in Mumbai but if he can travel, he will go to London.”

His other injuries

In 2006, SRK was doing a guest appearance in Shakti when he suffered a neck injury.

In the early 1990s at Film City Anupam Kher, who was sitting on a sofa, accidentally lifted his leg hitting SRK on his chest. Three of his ribs were fractured.

In 1993, SRK suffered a severe injury on his right toe.

Ayushmann Khurrana has started behaving like King Khan, because of some similarities with him.

Ayushmann Khurrana is just two films old but he has already rubbed a lot of filmmakers the wrong way with his ‘arrogance’. A director who doesn’t want to be named says, “He thinks he is big star like Shah Rukh Khan. If SRK threw his weight around, people would put up with it. But this guy is just two films old and his attitude is putting off filmmakers.”

One of the main reasons for him becoming the new Mr Unpopular is he has been refusing roles, which is his prerogative, but once he refuses the part, he tom-toms the fact all over the town.

Farah Khan and Rangita Nandy are just two producers he has pissed off. He has been demanding solo leads, changes in script, adding weight to his character, etc. No newcomer makes such demands and the industry being a small place, it is only a matter of time before he stops getting offers altogether.

Coming back to SRK, yes, he was brash and irrelevant in his interviews and his choice of films (Baazigar, Darr) but he was also charming and respectful to everyone in person. And while SRK can get away murder with those dimples and puppy eyes, Ayushmann might end up murdering his career if he doesn’t change his ways soon. Here’s looking at some of the similarities between the two actors... but Ayushmann may be well-advised to not take them too seriously...

North de munde
SRK was born and brought up in Delhi where he completed his education before coming to Mumbai to pursue his dreams.

A hardcore Chandigarh boy, Ayushmann did his schooling and college from his hometown and like SRK he too pursued a masters degree in mass communication, before the Bollywood bug bit him. He  was briefly based in Delhi, where he did a stint as a radio jockey.

Theatre
SRK was an active member of Barry John’s theatre group TAG (Theatre Action Group) and it was here that he laid the foundation to his acting career.

Ayushmann was deeply involved in theatre for over five years, and has been credited for being the founder member of two active theatre groups in Chandigarh.

Small screen wonder
SRK’s first brush with national fame came with TV shows Dil Dariya, Fauji, Circus and a made-for-TV film, In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones (where SRK had a minor role).

Ayushmann became famous after winning the MTV Roadies Season 2. He then went on to star in a TV show Kayamath, before becoming a VJ on MTV. Interestingly during his stint on TV, he even played SRK’s character from Chak De! India, in a spoof on the film called MTV Fully Faltoo Movie-Cheque De India. His character was named Fakir Khan!

Popular Hosts: SRK is known for his wicked sense of humour and sharp wit and rocks every stage show that he hosts. Ayushmann has hosted many award shows last year.

Luv Shuv: Shah Rukh was married to his college sweetheart Gauri before his debut film hit the screens.

Ayushmann too married his childhood sweetheart Tahira before his big screen debut in Vicky Donor.

Write points: Shah Rukh is known for his love for writing and he has often admitted that he plans to write an autobiography someday. Ayushmann too has revealed how writing is a hobby for him.

Unconventional hits: The films that catapulted and then cemented SRK’s position in the top league were unconventional. In Darr and Baazigar, he played the anti-hero, but they shot him to instant fame. As for Ayushmann, his Vicky Donor can easily be termed as the baap of unconventional films. As is Nautanki Saala.

At the music launch of the Deols' upcoming film where the media pounced on SRK

They were sharing a public platform after a long time. Sunny Deol had not really gone out of his way to be seen with Shah Rukh Khan ever since he felt shortchanged in Darr. Aamir Khan and SRK had not been BFFs after a prolonged season of jibes. But on Tuesday night, they put aside their differences to celebrate the music launch of Yamla Pagla Deewana 2.

And while the pictures of the starry guest list - featuring Hrithik and Papa Roshan, Aamir, SRK, Akshay Kumar, Ritesh Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Sunny, Dharmendra - have since been doing the rounds,TOI gets you the insider's view of what really happened when they all came together.

The buzzing suburban venue saw Aamir walk in early and take his seat. The Deols and the media greeted him warmly. But all that changed once SRK walked in. Thanks to the simmering controversy around his Wankhede episode, all eyes and ears were on the actor, who was bombarded with requests for a comment and a photo op.

Aamir got up from his seat and greeted his peer cordially, but as soon as it became evident that the media and the guests were keener to get a piece of SRK, he moved away, maintaining a dignified distance from him.

SRK was also much in demand by Papa Roshan, who pulled him aside and engaged him in a serious conversation for a good few minutes. We wonder if they were exchanging notes on superheroes. On the other hand, a visibly cheerful Juhi shared a few moments with SRK, who seemed to be sweating under his collar, despite the air-conditioning.

Once it was time to launch the music, SRK took the lead in getting all the actors in one happy frame. Even as the star guests stood shoulder to shoulder for the photo op, perhaps a little awkward in their newfound camaraderie, SRK broke the ice by requesting Dharmendra to do his signature, Yamla Pagla dance move. It worked like a charm as all of them suddenly let go of their inhibitions and broke into a jig, making it a moment to cherish.

As for Aamir and SRK, the two of them made it evident that it was time for mature interactions in public spaces.

The results are in. Movie lovers have voted Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge as their most favourite feature film from the past 100 years of Indian cinema in a poll conducted by Sanona™, the UK’s largest online Pay Per View (PPV) Indian movie streaming service.

The hit romantic comedy that made super stars of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol won by a landslide, taking 47% of the votes in the online poll conducted across social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter, email and via the movie portal itself to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Indian film industry.

Written and directed by Aditya Chopra, son of the legendary Bollywood filmmaker Yash Chopra, also known as the King of Romance, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge beat a selection of ten all-time greats which included classics such as Raj Kapoor’s vagabond story, Awaara (1951), Mehboob Khan’s melodrama, Mother India (1957), and Ramesh Sippy’s iconic curry western,

KOLKATA: Bengal's Ponzi muddle is being closely watched, not just by Tollywood, but by Bollywood and beyond. Or precisely, all those soaking in the IPL frenzy. A likely-fallout could be an annulled marriage between KKR and the Rose Valley Group.

Sources revealed that Bollywood badsah Shah Rukh Khan, tom tommed on the Rose Valley website as the "proud brand ambassador of Rose Valley", is increasingly perturbed with his brand's association with the latter. KKR, sources privy to the cricketing world have revealed, may not be particularly keen to seek sponsorship from Rose Valley, whom market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) is investigating for alleged fraud. According to Sebi, the group has raised Rs 4,000 crore and its collapse would lead to a bigger crisis than the Saradha bust.

Khan, who is a co-owner of IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), has had Rose Valley as its lead sponsor. He has endorsed the Bengal-based multi-business conglomerate which, after the Saradha scare, has had customers and depositors queuing up its branches to collect their money prematurely.

The actor along with KKR captain Gautam Gambhir and players Brendon McCullum and Manoj Tiwary has recently shot an ad film for the company. "But SRK has done the film only on request since Rose Valley is has been sponsoring KKR, and has not charged the company for it," said a source on the phone from Mumbai. He added, "Next time, he (SRK) may not be participating in such ventures."

Dinesh Chopra, spokesperson for KKR, was cautious when asked about a deal fallen through: "We are closely watching all that is happening in Kolkata and West Bengal. Every day there is some news on the hapless investor. There is a court case related to the chit fund issue. So it's best not to comment." Chopra added, "At this stage, all we can say is that the earlier contract is over and there's nothing much to tell about one in future."

KKR's two-year deal with Rose Valley at an annual sponsorship charge of Rs 5.5 crore has just ended. Gautam Kundu, chairman, Rose Valley Group, confirmed, "Our contract was for two years. Now it's for me to decide whether I shall renew it or not. The decision to invest in KKR will also be mine, entirely."

While chalking out the plans to inspect Rose Valley, a meeting of the state level coordination committee (SLCC) in January decided to initiate an awareness campaign asking rural people not to invest in Ponzi schemes. Said a finance department official, "While reasoning with rural people one has Shah Rukh Khan to contend with. If he vouches for a company, nobody will take our word seriously," said a finance department official.

SLCC is a multi-regulator forum set up to resolve inter-regulatory issues. Among those who attended the SLCC meeting were regional director, RBI, officials of state finance department, CID officials, the registrar of companies, representatives from Sebi, the National Housing Bank and department of non-banking supervision, Kolkata.

Documents with the state finance department revealed that " S V Krishnamohan of Sebi informed the meeting that the market regulator had banned "M/S Rose Valley Real Estate Construction Limited from collecting money and deposits from the public or to launch any scheme, and not to dispose any of the properties or delineate assets of the scheme and not to divert any fund raised from the public at large kept in the bank account or in the custody of the company."

MUMBAI: With an unrelenting MCA determined to keep Wankhede stadium off limits for Shah Rukh Khan, MNS leader Raj Thackeray and the Congress party on Tuesday batted for lifting the five-year ban on the actor imposed after last year's unsavoury brawl involving him.

While MNS chief Raj Thackeray termed Mumbai Cricket Association's action as "childish", Maharashtra Congress spokesman Sachin Sawant said the ban was "not a democratic punishment".

"Whatever happened (at) that time was wrong. The chapter is closed now. He should be allowed inside Wankhede stadium. He is not a terrorist who should be denied entry," Thackeray told reporters.

He said such "childishness" should stop and the Bollywood actor, the principal owner of IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders, be permitted entry.

Earlier, in an email sent today to MCA president Ravi Savant, MPCC spokesman Sachin Sawant said since Khan had publicly apologised for the incident, the stadium should not be out of bounds for the superstar.

"After the apology, we feel that it would be in the interest of sports if your esteemed organisation shows true sportsman spirit and allows entry to Khan. It is not the question of Shah Rukh Khan as an actor, but of any citizen - a ban is not a democratic punishment especially when the person has apologised," Sawant said.

"I request you to kindly reconsider the punishment given to him and allow him entry for today's match," the MPCC spokesman wrote.

The Kolkata team, reigning champion of the T20 league, are to take on Mumbai Indians at Wankhede this evening and Khan would be forced to watch the proceedings on TV if MCA does not rescind its decision, which seems quite unlikely.

The MCA, which has refused to budge from its tough stand despite reconciliation efforts by IPL chairman and Union minister Rajiv Shukla, had yesterday asked the local police station to prevent Khan from entering the stadium.
"We wrote a letter to Marine Lines police station asking them not to allow Shah Rukh Khan inside the stadium tomorrow (when Kolkata Knight Riders play Mumbai Indians). This was after the police had asked us to send a letter to that effect," MCA president Savant said.

Khan was banned for five years from entering MCA premises, including the Wankhede Stadium, by the Association's Managing Committee, headed by the late Vilasrao Deshmukh, on May 18 last year, after he was involved in a fracas with the security staff and officials of the cricket body following KKR's victory over MI two nights earlier.

The actor had, however, denied any misconduct and said he reacted only after children, including his kids, were "manhandled" by the security staff at the stadium.

Tonight's match will be the first KKR outing in Mumbai after last year's incident.

"Action (to ban Shah Rukh Khan) was taken by late Vilasrao Deshmukh (in his capacity as president of MCA), who is no longer with us and was himself a Congressman. When the concerned person (Shah Rukh) himself has not bothered to apologise to MCA, I fail to understand why the Congress is concerned about this matter," Savant told when reached for his reaction.

Ecstatic after a long-awaited victory, fans of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) attribute the performance of the team to the presence of Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan, who cheered his side to an eight-wicket victory against Rajasthan Royals at the Eden Gardens here Friday. In a spectacular
show at the Eden, Shah Rukh with daughter Suhana in tow, showed solidarity and support by waving and egging the squad on throughout the game, to tumultuous applause from spectators.

KKR fans on Twitter and Facebook have hailed Shah Rukh as the lucky mascot for the knights with charged-up posts that implore the Bollywood 'badshah' to be present at all of the team's forthcoming matches in the Indian Premier League.

"SRK (short for Shahrukh Khan) comes and we win the matches. SRK please make it to the other matches also,"ran a comment on a Facebook fan page.

Similarly other pages were abuzz with requests like "King Khan is the lucky mascot for KKR. We want Khan whenever KKR plays" and "KKR's win is due to SRK. We want SRK."

Twitterati have been chirping away since the victory of the home team, with tweets that clearly show many regard SRK and KKR synonymously.

"KKR SRK KKR SRK KKR SRK," tweeted one during the match while a glimpse of the star was enough for some to predict a win.

"SRK is here in Eden. KKR will win for sure. Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo aaj (Today we will fight and win)," reiterated a fan.

Some linked the charged up atmosphere at Eden to Khan's arrival, which further added to the zeal of the loyal followers.

"KKR fans let us rock the crowd... SRK is here with us," wrote a fan.

1.Ok guys, no more fun.. A serious Question.

Do you think SRK will come to wankhede today ?
2.Raj Thakare on #SRK:
"Ban on entering in #Wankhede Stadium should be removed.
SRK is not a terrorist."

Mumbai Police says
"it is not their job to stop Shah Rukh Khan from entering Wankhede stadium today."

t's 7.50 pm and the match is about to take off. The mood at Eden Gardens, Kolkata is electrifying. Chants of the home team slogan rent the air. The bowler begins his run up, the batsman takes position. But the crowd is looking away.

The VIP stand is empty. "Will he come in today?" Everyone wants to know. Suddenly a message crackles on the wireless: "Shah Rukh Khan is in the building, he is coming up, get ready." He walks in with his entourage, with strict instructions to his personal security, 'No pushing anyone, be gentle to everybody.'

For SRK, this season of IPL has been an exercise in image management. Besides keeping his appearances decidedly lowkey, he has also kept his children away from the glare of the media. With Aryan in London, it is Suhana who has kept him company. But SRKhas not let her out of his sight at all. As for the speculations about a fallout between his friend and franchise partner Juhi Chawla, on Friday, SRK simply walked in and hugged her and her husband Jay in the air-conditioned lounge. None of these images will ever make it to the media.

Back at the stadium, the PA systems announce his arrival as he takes up his favourite spot on the balcony. The crowd is up on its feet, frantically taking his pictures as he waves out to them. The match is relegated to the background. The stand is dotted with prominent faces - Usha UthupRaima Sen,Rituparna Sengupta. SRK plays the host, alsmot as if they are visiting his home in Mumbai.

The crucial match draws to a close, and SRK watches his team glide to a victory from the boundary line. If he is ecstatic, he is also restrained in his expression. Only those closest to him know what is going on in his mind. Right after the victory, Aryan calls him from London to congratulate him.

At a media event later the same evening, he regretted not being at all the matches this season. "...because of my work," he explained, adding, "Being at work and thinking about the game would be like Gautam Gambhir batting and thinking about movies. It is cheating, but yes, I have missed being here. I have to thank the people of this beautiful city who have opened their hearts for us and given me Jayand Juhi so much love."

The night was still young when SRK joined the rest of the team for an after party. If he was tired after a marathon day, he did not show it. "Shah Rukh you are wanted on the dance floor," a team member whispered in his ears. He readily agreed.

The crowd made way for him, the DJ switched to songs from his films - Dil Se, Yes Boss, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Don and RA.One - began to play out. SRK danced with everyone for nearly three hours. But just when you thought that the 47-year-old, now sweating profusely, would call it a day, he climbed up a fourfeet-wall next to the DJ console, and danced there for the next 10 minutes. A source close to the star told Mirror, "You will not see him getting as ecstatic about any of his films. It is sports that bring out the child in him. When he goes to meet Aryan and his friends in London, they all know him as the owner of an IPL team. It means a lot to those kids, and makes him proud and happy." SRK will be back in Mumbai to shoot for Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express.
